Linen Wedding Albums from KISS Wedding BooksMonday, January 17th, 2011

For some people they don’t care for or want a leather album and that is totally cool. I have linen albums that are available and they are a bit cheaper than the leather albums. They are available in 8″, 10″ and 12″ sizes. The pages are photo printed and then bound together. They are built a little differently than the leather albums but they are still top notch quality.

Check out these photographs of the sample wedding album. I will be bringing this album to client consultations so you can decided between leather and linen. The nice thing about the KISS wedding books company – I can design the album once and I can then have it printed at any of their sizes and any of their covers. So once a wedding album design is finalized we can then pick any size and any cover.

Blue Leather Kiss Wedding Album – Weighing in at 12 InchesSunday, January 16th, 2011

Who says that size doesn’t matter? Photographers have big cameras, big lenses, big prints and big wedding albums. Sure you can get a little KISS wedding album but you can also get the 12″ wedding album in leather. This thing is a monster and I love it. It really captures my wedding photography and lays it out in a wonderful album to be shared for generations.

And the leather albums are available in 8″, 10″ and 12″

Someone commented that our generation is at risk of losing all their photographs. Everyone keeps them digitally and they are one computer failure away from loosing all their family memories. That is why it is important to have a physical wedding album that will last a lifetime and more.

This is my sample wedding album. The book is photo printed – meaning the paper is just like a printed photograph and it is bound into a leather album. The two page spreads are thick and durable. You of course want to protect the album like any other photograph. The album even comes with a protective cover. The leather cover is smooth and soft so you store it laying flat and you don’t want to put anything on the book.

I do have a gallery on SmugMug with photographs of the albums – the photographs can be enlarged to see the detail of the albums.

Here are a few detail photographs to show you the construction of the book. I will be bringing these books along to any meeting with future and potential clients so they can hold the book in their hand and see the quality and beauty of the wedding albums.

The pages are seamless – I still try to avoid putting key details in the very center of the photograph but there is no page break to worry about.

Not sure how well you will be able to make out the quality construction of the wedding album but it is a work of art. In choosing the color of the album I try to pick one of the colors that is closest to the official wedding colors. And if there is not one close enough I personally go with black, brown or white.

Here is an example of the two page spread and the seamlessness – a very cool feature and something the craftsman who make the book have perfected.

Introducing Little KISSes Wedding Albums with Linen CoversSaturday, January 15th, 2011

I now have some sample wedding albums and I am showing them off in a blog post. This post features photographs of the 4″ Little KISSes Wedding Albums. These are awesome on so many levels!

They fit in your pocket or purse. They come in pairs of two, so you can have a copy and you can give a copy to your mom. They are printed on actual photo paper and the pages are seamless just like the large albums. They come in a variety of fun colors including black, green, pink, blue, brown, white, and red. You do have a choice of linen cover or leather cover. I don’t have a leather version yet but I will soon.

While I was photographing the albums I thought I would compare the size of the album to my iPhone 4. Very pocket size – although most people would carry it in their purse or man-purse.

And why buy an iPhone to store your photos? Your phone will probably be stolen and all your photographs and memories lost :/ so you should get a mini-album to help safe guard your memories. Although the albums aren’t theft proof either so maybe my argument if flawed.

Wedding Album Design for MacKenzie & StanWednesday, January 12th, 2011

I’m going to be sharing a few album designs from the past year. I have really started to find my creative eye when I design these wedding albums. I don’t outsource the designs I do everything myself and they do take a little bit of time. I could do them fast or do them right. I am sure with a bit more experience I will have both!

And if I photograph the engagements then I love to include them in a wedding album – I will usually design one or two spreads of engagements and then include some bridal photographs as well. I don’t put a limit on the amount of changes in an album. If you change your mind several times before the album goes to print that is fine. I want to make sure the wedding album is as close to perfect since it is supposed to last you a life time – and hopefully will last longer than that if you care for your album.

I had my leather sample album printed with this exact wedding. I will be blogging sample photographs of the actual printed album soon – finding time to blog is a challenge!

For anyone wondering how I design the albums – I use Adobe InDesign CS5 for the page layout. It is the best way to layout books and albums. It lets me make changes and layer images and graphics and always preserve the original photographs. I won’t have to start from scratch if we ever make changes.

For each wedding album I will design from the color scheme of the wedding. In the case of MacKenzie’s and Stan’s wedding I used the baby blue, black, white as the main colors for the album.

Leather & Linen Color Samples for my Wedding AlbumsThursday, November 18th, 2010

I am very excited to announce I have the latest leather and linen color and material samples from Kiss Wedding Albums. I use Kiss albums exclusively and they are available in leather or linen and come in 4 sizes: 4″, 8″, 10″ and 12″

Right now I am designing and ordering some sample albums so when I meet with future brides I can show off the albums, the design, the photography and hopefully win people over and get them excited about their own wedding album. I hope to have a 12″ leather album in a week or two, woo hoo!
