What makes dav.d different?

There are a thousand photographers in Utah – why pick me? That is a great question – and I am of course trying to find what makes me unique as a photographer. Two factors would be – do you like my photography? and do you like me?

Check out the homepage of my website – it will reflect my latest photography for weddings, bridals, and engagement – with the occasional off topic rave or rant. Also check out my gallery section – I try to keep that updated with my best photographs.

As for knowing about me? I will be working on introducing myself through my blog and the occasional web video. I like to think I am a pretty funny guy and hopefully that will show. It is my goal to have the bride and groom laughing and relaxed for their photos.

And now for the geeky background stuff…

I learned digital photography backwards. In 1995 started to learn how to edit and manipulate photographs on a computer.  In 2000 I bought my first digital camera and learned to manipulate photographs so I could use my own photographs on websites.   In 2004 I bought my first digital SLR camera.

As you can see this has been a gradual process. I continue to learn to expand my skills and my techniques.  In 2008 I started dav.d photography, llc.  And dav.d photography has been my side business with the goal of having this expensive hobby become a legitimate side business.

Up until this time photography has been strictly a hobby.  I decided that I will slowly develop my photography business.  I don’t want to burn out quickly and I don’t want to take risks that would result without planning, learning and growing.

I have worked as a second photographer for other photographers based here in Utah including Retrospect Studios, Zuma Photo and Nick Sokoloff Photography. I love second shooting and I look forward to developing my own brand of photography – dav.d wedding photography.

I am very comfortable photographing weddings of all shapes and sizes.  I have photographed events with thousands of attendees and I have photographed events with just a handful of people.

As I grow my photography business I would love any feedback and any questions.  You can always call me (801.608.1292), email me (dav.d@davidweddings.com), or text me (801.608.1292).  Leave comments on the blog or questions.  I realize wedding photography is a competitive business but I work with my fellow photographers to try and make the wedding photography industry a friendly and fulfilling community.

Someday I may go full-time as a wedding photographer – we will see where changes take me.
