It is just a fact of life that things break! The key is if you are prepared for when they do. I had one of my flash units die on me this week – and I spent about 3 hours trying to figure out what was wrong with the flash. Well, it is now on its way to Canon’s repair services.
Good thing I have backups. It is important to have a backup solution.
What happens when one flash breaks? Grab the next flash in the bag and keep photographing. I can get the gear repaired or replaced later – but I do all I can to make sure that I can keep photographing. That is why I have two camera bodies on a wedding assignment. I have multiple lenses, multiple batteries, multiple memory cards – everything has a backup.
My flash will be in the shop for about 3 weeks so I will be ordering one or two more flashes as more backup. And I will always have natural light photography as a backup!
I am a man with a plan!
