IKEA is Pretty Cool – Photo Studios on a Budget

Right now I have no official headquarters for dav.d wedding photography. I have joked that Utah is my studio. I can photograph outdoors, indoors, I even can rent a studio space from several different photographers. I have lights I can port around and get the look I want.

When it comes to meeting with clients Starbucks seems to be my favorite location. Some free wi-fi, my iPad, my portfolio and we can talk shop and have a hot beverage (hot chocolate is available at Starbucks for those who don’t drink coffee).

Well, I am putting together a dream board – I had something similar before Oprah made the dream board a popular concept. One of the items that I will probably just attach is the IKEA catalogue. A long term goal ( one or two years ) is to buy a home and have one section dedicated to be a home studio. Part of the studio would be to create photographs, an office and then a space to meet with clients.

So IKEA just makes the whole concept a little more trendy and a bit more affordable. I took this photograph of IKEA last evening and maybe I will just put that on the dream board.
