It really pays that I have a background in web design. Other photographers, if they want to manage their own website, would drive themselves nuts figuring out HTML, CSS, and WordPress.
Granted, I have to find the balance between maintaining and updating the website and the rest of running a successful wedding photography business. At times it seems if people are not busy they have plenty of time to edit a website. If people are truly busy with wedding photography then their website never gets updated. So maybe the winter is the only time to update websites.
Hopefully, I will be able to balance everything.
So what is new? Two new things – I have a new banner image that rotates each time the webpage is loaded. Right now I have about 20 different images that will load right below the navigation. The other changes has been the navigation at the top of the website. I have made the links larger and I put them in blue to have them stand out. When you mouse over the links then they will look more like a button. I also moved the links down about an inch.
My main marketing is through my website – hopefully I will be adding word of mouth. It is a bit of a Catch-22. But hopefully as the website evolves and I add more content the more I will impress brides that I rock as a wedding photographer.
We shall see.
