I just bought a new piece of camera junk! Well, definitely not junk – this is an extremely portable softbox. This is the Lastolite Ezybox 24″ x 24″ and it’s purpose is to bring studio quality lighting to a location near you.

Sometimes it is handy to be lightweight and portable – and that is what this softbox does. In the past I have used an umbrella and the light goes everywhere. With this I will have more control over the light – and that is what will be cool. I can’t wait to test it out and try it. And it will fit in my backpack pretty easily.

Ultimately it is about light – photography is all about light. Light is the language of photography. And this softbox will help me refine that language. See I am getting all sorts of metaphorical

And I am sure it is a metaphor I have stolen.
