Found the Studio that took my old Engagements

I went on another photowalk at lunch and I stumbled upon the photo studio that took my engagement photographs back in 1995. The business has since closed and it is sad to see businesses close. However, I did a google search to see if they relocated and it looks like the business was started in 1946. So I am guessing that the business is now closed – I can’t imagine photographing at the ripe age of 90+

I took these photographs with a special lens called a Lensbaby – which is a special effect lens. It has blurry areas and you can add accessories.

I should try and find my old engagement photographs. I bet that Christina ( still my best friend ) has them. I should show them off – they were so formal. Which is cool – but the popular thing today is to capture couples out and about looking cool and in love.

I love making some photographs look old fashioned. Almost as if they were taken by an old film camera.

And more on the Lensbaby – here is a photograph taken of some autumn leaves. I had added a star shaped aperture ring to the lens – look at the photograph and you will see stars in the blurry areas of the photograph. Pretty cool special effects. I can do heart shapes or even custom shapes. Creativity is to be explored and discovered.
