This blog post is going to be a big post – so fasten your seat belts and check out these photographs. I was a second shooter for this wedding and helping my good friend Brian Gordon. The wedding was on a beautiful autumn day in The Canterbury Place in Bountiful, Utah.

The Canterbury Place in HDR
This was my first wedding where I photographed the behind the scenes as the bride prepares for the wedding ceremony. Often time it has been my job to photograph the groom and groomsmen – or everyone is ready before the photographers even show up. But it was a lot of fun to capture the make up, hair, and preparation.

Don’t mock multitasking it is not easy to put on the dress, have your hair done and brush your teeth – only attempt this if you are a professional.

Looking fantabulous!
Before the wedding ceremony I took several photograph so I can create an HDR (High Dynamic Range) photograph. This technique is relatively new – and can be a challenge to master – but I am getting pretty good results.

I am sure I annoyed the string quartet to no end capturing their practice session. But I was able to get some amazing photographs.

While waiting for the wedding party to assemble before the ceremony I snapped a few photographs of the autumn leaves – and I love this next photograph. I think I am going to blow this up for a large canvas print someday.

I think cake smashing is trying to make a comeback. I haven’t seen it for dozens of weddings over the last 2-3 years and already this summer I have seen it at about 3-4 weddings. Mickelle was fast enough to stop her husband from smashing cake in her face and then she retaliates and was able to get him back.

I couldn’t decide which first dance photograph to feature – so I showed off both. The first one I love the lighting. The next photograph really focuses in on the bride and the groom and captures a very tender moment.

Limo services were provided by Spotlight Productions SLC. They have a stretch Cadillac Escalade that is just cool. I was able to snap a few photographs inside before the couple came out to ride to the honeymoon suite.
