Bridal Photography and the setting Sun at the Great Salt Lake in Utah
The Great Salt Lake at sunset – it is really a spectacular view. And then drag out a softbox to light a bride and you get some gorgeous photographs. We did have to put up with gnats and little insects biting us and Katie, the bride, was a trooper.

Sunset is one of the best times of the day to photograph – in the summer that could mean photographing as late as 8:30pm in the evening and in the winter as early as 4:30pm. So when scheduling bridal photography or engagement photography I like to check the sunset times.

And for some reason sunsets are easier than sunrises. I guess not everyone is a morning person, lol.

And the following photograph is retouched using a new Photoshop action from NicholeVan – it is part of her Vintage Chic – and as always I love to find opportunity to make a new photograph look antique.

This bridal photograph is a bit different – I love the blue sky as it blends into an almost night time look. And this only works as a vertical shot.

This final shot was from a suggestion from Katie – she had seen other photographs of brides running while holding up their dress – and I love the shot. So don’t be surprised if I make the suggestion to run for it and I will be running with camera in hand.
